Indian Badminton League is a franchise league by Badminton Association of India (BAI). The players were auctioned. The 2013 edition of the league featured 6 teams representing the Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. The matches were played in two legs, home and away. The first season of IBL was played in August 2013. Actor Aamir Khan and actress Deepika Padukone were the brand ambassadors of the 2013 season.
